Miyachi Europe announces MIYACHI ML-6950A high-power fiber laser welder with innovative high-power continuous-wave welding technology
Miyachi Europe, the leading supplier of laser and resistance welding systems, laser marking products, and hot bar systems, announces the new MIYACHI ML-6950A high-power fiber laser welder. A more powerful version of Miyachi's existing fiber laser welders, the ML-6950A applies continuous wave (CW) technology with an output power of up to 5kW.
The ML-6950A is part of the new 6900A Series, ideal for welding of electronic components, automotive parts, medical equipment and precision sheet metals, as well as sealing of minute parts, fine spot welding, high-speed seam welding and thick plate welding.
The ML-6950A reduces costs without the need to sacrifice performance. An optional two time sharing feature improves productivity, while the long-lasting laser diode provides high reliability and reduces maintenance cost. With excellent laser oscillation efficiency, and lower energy use, the ML-6950A also contributes to environmentally-friendly manufacturing.
Equipped with integrated power measurement and real-time energy feedback for an extremely stable output, the ML-6950A requires very little maintenance and provides remote services for all relevant functions. Waveform control includes a fixed mode that features three-level waveforms, and a flex mode to provide more complex waveforms. The state-of-the-art power monitor tracks laser energy and average power to detect abnormalities. Also standard is a beam-switch safety shutter. The device comes with built-in single or dual optical outputs.
A special "fade-in/fade-out" feature avoids marks at the end of seam welding and provides a beautiful finish, even for overlapping circumference seam welding sections.
External communication is provided using an RS-485 compliant, asynchronous, full duplex transmitter, which allows parameter configuration and performance monitoring from a separate location at data speeds up to 38.4 Kbps. No PC is necessary for operation  pulse shaping, modulation control, and other settings are easily operated by a color LCD touch-panel, which can be detached from the main unit and operated by hand.
